House moves across Ditchling, Hassocks and Keymer, planned around the village crossroads, listed cottages and the roads under the Downs.
Ditchling’s centre is a conservation area of narrow streets and listed cottages around the village crossroads, while the roads out towards Hassocks and up towards the Beacon are mostly family homes with drives. Send us both addresses and a photo of your frontage, and we’ll plan the van, crew and loading spot before the day.
Ditchling’s conservation area has 48 listed buildings, many with tight frontages, low beams and winding stairs. We check door widths and stair turns from your photos and tell you what needs dismantling, then handle the furniture dismantling and reassembly, so nothing touches the fabric of the house.
The High Street, West Street, South Street and Lewes Road meet at a narrow crossroads with yellow lines and busy pavements. We pick the closest legal stopping point before the day, keep loading quick, and use our Mercedes Sprinter where a Luton would block the junction.
Away from the centre, Beacon Road and the streets towards Hassocks have larger family homes with driveways, so the van can usually park at the door. We recently moved a family from Hurstpierpoint to Beacon Road with two Lutons and our Sprinter, with a full packing service the day before and our unpacking service after.
No. Ditchling has no residents’ permit zones, and you can usually load on yellow lines unless there are loading restrictions marked on the kerb. If the van needs to stay longer on a restricted stretch, East Sussex County Council considers suspensions and dispensations case by case, so mention it when you ask for a quote. Hassocks and Keymer are in West Sussex, which runs its own system.
Ditchling St Margaret’s Primary is in the village, and on sunny weekends cars and cyclists head through the centre for Ditchling Beacon. We load outside the school run and avoid the busiest weekend hours where your dates allow, and on completion day moves we plan around key release too.
Yes. We cover all of Ditchling plus Hassocks, Keymer, Westmeston and Streat on the same runs, and our base in Burgess Hill is just a few miles north. Moving nearby? See our Hurstpierpoint removals, Burgess Hill removals and Lewes removals pages.
Every move is fully insured, five star rated and quoted with no hidden fees.
Every van carries £40,000 Goods in Transit cover and £5 million Public Liability, including any extra vans we bring in for bigger moves. We also hold employee and breakdown cover, with a spare van on standby, so a problem on the road doesn't stop your move.
We're rated 5.0 on Google from hundreds of five star reviews, 10/10 on Checkatrade and 10/10 on Getamover. Every review comes from a real customer, so read them before you book and see how other moves went.
We quote by the hour or as a set price, depending on your move, and explain any overtime terms before you book, so you know what happens if the day runs long. A deposit secures your date and comes off your final invoice.
